The black currant is phlebotonics and produces a venous tonic effect, decreasing capillary permeability. It is also antispasmodic (produces smooth muscle relaxation). Traditionally the leaves have been used to treat arthritis, joint pain, gout, diarrhea, gastritis, biliary dyskinesia, kidney stones, urinary calculi, oliguria, urinary retention, edema, cough and common cold. Have also been used topically to treat skin lesions. For its part, the fruits have been traditionally used for treatment of hemorrhoids, phlebitis, varicose veins, capillary fragility, common cold and cough. Ingredients: 200 mg. dry extract (standardized to 1% in routine) from leaves of Black Currant (Ribes nigrum L.) Excipients: Sucrose, Corn starch, polyvinylpyrrolidone K30, Talc, Gelatin. How to use: Take 2 capsules daily, morning and evening. Presentation: Bottle containing 45 capsules of 400 mg. of microgranules.
