The Bromelin is a digestive enzyme that is at the stem of the plant fruit and pineapple (Ananas comosus). It is widely known as digestive and its anti-inflammatory effects in serious damage or postoperative period. The Bromelin is also a successful use in the treatment against many diseases, including heart disease, arthritis, infection in the upper respiratory tract and Peyronie's disease (a condition that affects the genito-urinary tract and can cause sexual dysfunction in men) . The Bromelin is also used successfully to heal wounds and burns to enhance the action of antibiotics and chemotherapeutic drugs.
It is useful as a digestive, 500 mg with meals is the recommended dose. For other uses, the following are recommended doses.
-- Injury: 500 mg four times per day on an empty stomach
- Cardiovascular diseases: 500 to 750 mg three times a day on an empty stomach.
- Joint inflammation: 500 to 2,000 mg per day in two doses.
Antitumour activity - 1,000 mg per day.
