Linomed is a combination of stimulant laxatives (senna, frangula) and mechanical bulking agents (flax). The laxative effect of senna and frangula is due to their anthraquinone heteroside content.
Its effects take place in the colon, where they stimulate intestinal motility by acting on the nerve endings of the intestinal plexuses, either directly or by irritation of the mucosa. They also inhibit the intestinal absorption of water and electrolytes (mainly sodium and chloride), increasing the osmotic load of the colonic lumen. This effect is enhanced by the mechanical laxative effect of flax seeds, rich in mucilage. These polysaccharides have a great capacity to adsorb water and hydrate, increasing in volume and giving rise to a viscous gel that increases the volume of stool and exerts a lubricating effect. The laxative effect usually takes about 6-12 hours to appear.

How to use:

Each measuring spoon corresponds to a quantity of 4.1 g of granules.
- Adults and children over 12 years of age, oral: 1 tablespoon / 24 hours, corresponding to about 20.5 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives, expressed as sennoside B.
The granulate allows lower dosages. The correct individual dose is the minimum necessary to produce a comfortable defecation with loose stools. In general, 2-3 doses are usually sufficient for the desired effect to appear.The maximum daily dose is 30 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives, corresponding to 6 g of granules.
