ST. JOHN'S WORT (Wort SAN JUAN, DEPRESSION) OF HEALTH AID. GENERAL INFORMATION: Nutritional supplement consisting of the St. John's Wort. The herb St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum L.), herbaceous plant belonging to the family of hipericáceas is a nervous sedative and tonic antidepressants because of the active ingredients present. Recent studies have linked their antidepressant effects with dervishly content and flavonoids, which act by inhibiting the enzyme monoamine oxidase (MAO). Hypericin interferes with MAO enzyme found in the brain and destroying various amines which act as a brain neurotransmitter, such as serotonin, epinephrine and dopamine. Along with these active ingredients has other substances that increase their action in the body such as tannins (with antiseptic, astringent and healing), monoterpenes, phytosterols, flavonoids (with cholagogue properties, spasmolytic and vasoprotective), procyanidins (peripheral and coronary vasodilator ), routine and pectin. TABLET COMPOSITION: Hypericum powder, 315 mg. Hypericum extract containing 0.3% hypericin, 185 mg. EXCIPIENTS: dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, beta carotene, vitamin C (ascorbic acid). DIRECTIONS: One to two tablets daily with food, inadults and children over 6 years. CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS: lacks contraindications and side effects recommended doses. Use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It can cause skin photosensitivity manifested by dermatitis and mucosal inflammation after direct sun exposure (dose intravenously 50 to 70 times the normal dose orally). Hypericum are cautioned not to simultaneously with the following medications: cyclosporine, digoxin, warfarin, oral contraceptives, theophylline and antiretroviral drugs. COMMENTS: This product contains no gluten, refined sugars, milk, salt, egg, soy, cereals, citrus, saturated fatty acids, nuts or artificial additives. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
